Derwenthorpe Energy Centre
A key part of the new 540 home development at Derwenthorpe in York for the Joseph Rowntree Housing Trust, this building will house the wood-fired boilers to provide heating and hot water to the entire development. The building will play a role in educating the public about sustainability, alternative energy sources and carbon reduction. A classroom and viewing gallery will cater for school visits and provide the fledgling community with a general purpose meeting space.
